Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP)
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) launched the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), a four-year undergraduate program that aims to produce qualified, well-rounded teachers. ITEP offers a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to teaching by skillfully fusing professional teacher preparation with general education, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

This innovative program integrates theoretical knowledge, practical experiences, and internships, equipping students with essential teaching skills and pedagogical expertise. By condensing the curriculum, ITEP strives to enhance the quality of teacher education and generate educators who are equipped to flourish in both primary and secondary schools. In addition to improving the caliber of teacher preparation, ITEP makes a substantial contribution to raising educational standards generally in schools.
Through the integration of general education courses with teacher training, this ITEP course enables students to graduate with a teaching permit or certification. Graduates of the ITEP are equipped to take on the demands of contemporary education and help mould the next generation.
Being affiliated with Gauhati University, Sipajhar College is a reputable government college. The college functions in complete accordance with the rules established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Department of Higher Education, Government of Assam. The Government of Assam established the Governing Body to oversee it, guaranteeing efficient management and strategic guidance. Sipajhar College has formally applied to the NCTE to introduce the four-year integrated BA-BEd program under the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the academic year 2025–2026 as part of its commitment to improving educational offerings. The NCTE has granted the “Letter of intent” to our college to commence ITEP.
Intake Capacity: Sipajhar College has submitted an application to offer a one unit ,four year integrated BA-BEd program,with an intake capacity of 50 students. Because of the program's strong basis in general education and excellent teacher training, every student will receive individualized attention and a comprehensive educational experience.
Eligibality for Admission:To be eligible for admission to the integrated BA-BEd program,candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Educational Qualification: Successfully complete the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board in India.
• Minimum Marks: Obtain the minimum percentage of scores that are needed for particular category.
